Getting back in the groove

Yoga is great.

I love waking up before the sun rises and spreading my mat across the floor, lighting my sandalwood incense, putting on some soft music, and just losing myself in the practice.

I wish that statement was true, but guess what? I hate getting out of bed at 5:30 for anything. I’m not in the mood to burn incense or listen to music before the sun even rises. You know what I am in the mood for? Nothing.

I had a period of about six months where I did this. I got up and did yoga every morning, and sometimes I did a sequence before bed too. And I felt great. I felt more relaxed, more in control, and even healthier (it caused me to eat better… don’t ask, I don’t know why this happened, but it did happened).

Despite all of these things, I still quit doing yoga regularly.

And so I’m writing this post right now as sort of a liability partner situation. This is me publicly saying that I’m going to get back into the practice. Every morning and most nights, the mat will be rolled out.

The incense will be burning.

The music will be playing.

I will be grumbling about it.

But I will do it.

p.s. if you have yoga questions, send them to me! I have a lot of really good YouTube channels for yoga sequences I’d love to share with you if you’re interested!
