To the woman who made me say “yes.” To the woman who convinced me I could do anything I set my mind to. To the woman who helped me find myself. Happy birthday, Shonda. May 48 be another year of dancing it out and standing in the sun.
Welcome to the future! Or 2018. Whichever you prefer is fine with me. But here’s something I do mind: resolutions. I hate them, to be quite honest. I don’t like the pressure they add, I don’t like giving myself a timeline… I prefer to just live Continue reading “My Own Kind Of Resolutions”
The semester is finally over! And that means I actually have time to sit down a write a blog post that doesn’t have anything to do with Grey’s Anatomy! I know––weird. But it’s happening. And if you’ve ever thought about starting your own blog, this one is for you! Continue reading “Just Be A Human”
Do you want to know how to survive college? The real college? Not the pretty pamphlet with a picture of five students sitting on a quilt in the grass with a nice picnic spread, they’re all laughing, they look like they had 9.5 hours of sleep the night before… Continue reading “College Survival 101”
I love airports. But I also hate them. We have a love/hate relationship, really. Today, I’m pretty much indifferent. The only thing I’m mad about right now is Starbucks being out of mango flavor for my tea. Whateves. Peach will do. Continue reading “11 Thoughts I Have While Sitting in an Airport”
Ya’ll. I have a Keurig in my room from where I moved out of the dorm and let me tell you… it’s bad. It’s bad in the best way possible. I’m literally steps away from a caffeine boost in the mornings. I don’t even have to put on pants for this. Continue reading “Newest collection: coffee mugs”
You all know my love affair with Grey’s Anatomy. I mean, I literally have an entire section of this blog dedicated to episode reviews (which will pick up this weekend for season 14!). But, before we get back on schedule with those reviews, I wanted to talk about what’s going on right now. Continue reading “Here’s to 300”

Oh, hi! Didn’t see you there. My name is Jordyn and this is The Lane. Maybe you’re here intentionally or maybe you somehow stumbled in and maybe you don’t even know how you got here, but whatever the case may be, I’m glad you made it! I think I should tell you what you’re about to get into if you choose to stick around, Continue reading “Welcome to The Lane”
This post was in no way planned. It’s one of those things that I started thinking about and knew I had to say something and share it with as many people as I can. So, here we go. I hope this helps you. I hope you speak up. Continue reading “Campus allies: are you one?”
I won a cup.
That seems like a very strange statement to start a blog post off with, but that’s how this whole thing started.
The cup is from the Ellen Degeneres show. It’s not a special cup; it’s a clear, tervis-like cup, with the classic aqua blue logo on it. That’s it. But for some reason, when I looked at the cup this morning, I knew I needed to write about it. Here’s why:
Have you ever wanted to interview your best friend? Well, I wanted to, so I did!
Ok, this was fun. Carrie and I have known each other for over a year now and I knew she was the one I wanted to interview for this post. Continue reading “Carrie Tells All”
