Grey’s Anatomy 13.24 Episode Review

Season 13, episode 24: Ring of Fire (Written by Stacy McKee)

First off, I want to say thank you to Jerrika for breathing life into such a complex, strong, badass character for the past five years. We will all miss you and Stephanie Edwards. And Stacy, what a beautiful ending you gave her. (More on this later!!) I have said it every time and I’ll say it again: every time I see your name as writer, I know I’m about to have one hell of an hour, and this one did not disappoint.

So, back to normal. This review is going to be spent mainly inside Stephanie’s head. I’m going to try to work through her thoughts and fears in the next couple of minutes, and if you could all play along with me, that would be great.

“When life forces us to do something impossible, an explosion happens inside the body. A rush of hormones blasts through us; making us stronger, making us faster. Biology overrides fear and that makes the impossible possible.” -Meredith Grey

Grey’s Anatomy 13.23 Episode Review

Well, my European adventure is over and that means it’s time for real life! First up is this post because I know you’re all antsy for it to be posted.

Season 13, episode 23: True Colors (Written by William Harper)

“There are moments when all the stars align, when everything seems as it should be. Your life seems to have sorted itself out. It’s not like all our problems go away, it’s just that the problems are suddenly manageable. You feel so good you wonder if it’s real, and if I’ve learned anything, I can tell you, it is. It’s very real… but it will not last.” -Meredith Grey

Grey’s Anatomy 13.22 Episode Review

Season 13, episode 22: Leave It Inside (Written by Elisabeth Finch)

As soon as this episode started, I knew people would have some intense reactions. Why? Because the first thing we see is Meredith hauling the tumor on the wall out of her bedroom. That’s sacred MerDer property right there… it’s big. If that right there doesn’t set the scene for Meredith in this episode, I don’t know what does.

I’m going to keep up with the whole writing from a character’s perspective, but there’s too many storylines going on in this episode to choose one, so we’re going to go with Meredith, Alex and Arizona. And let’s go ahead and start with Meredith.

“Our skulls protect our brains. Our ribcage guards our hearts. The body is built to protect our most vulnerable parts. At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work.” -Meredith Grey

Grey’s Anatomy 13.20 Episode Review

Season 13, episode 20: In The Air Tonight (Written by Stacy McKee, Directed by Chandra Wilson)

Have I ever told you how much I love bubble episodes? I think it’s because they’re easier to review since it’s one plot line I’m dealing with instead of seven… it makes my life easier. And this one just happened to focus on Meredith which makes it 10x better. Welcome aboard everyone! Continue reading “Grey’s Anatomy 13.20 Episode Review”

Grey’s Anatomy 13.19 Episode Review

Season 13, episode 19: What’s Inside (Written by Tia Napolitano; Directed by Nzingha Stewart)

“Curiosity killed the cat. It also killed a lot of ancient Greeks when Pandora had to open that box full of death and pestilence and stuff. Why do we have to know what’s behind door number three even when we’re pretty sure it’ll be bad for us?” -Meredith Grey

Grey’s Anatomy 13.15 Episode Review

Season 13, episode 15: Civil War (Written by Elizabeth Klaviter)

You guys know how this works by now, so let’s just dive right in with the opening V.O.

“There’s an old story of a father who had two sons. When he knew a Civil War was about to breakout, he sent on son to fight for the North and one to the South. He figured if he had sons on both sides, there’d be a better chance one would survive. Because when you fight a war at home, the casualties are your neighbors… your friends, your family, leaving you all alone.” -Meredith Grey

Ok, so this episode was basically one full hour of people getting pissed at each other. For clarity AND orginization, I have made a list of “wars” and we will go through them, one by one, for this week’s review. Here they are:

  • Alex vs. Nathan
  • Jackson vs. Catherine (…and April)
  • Amelia vs. Owen
  • Deep fried Dad’s family vs. Fiancé
  • Eliza AND Arizona vs. Richard (?)
